" ... Lynn Calvo: Montauk has always been a very special place for me. It’s where I spent my summers and some very long cold winters as a lobsterman's daughter. Montauk is where I started in the hospitality industry as a bartender during the summer seasons. My tropical infusions were an instant hit! The fishermen were hooked on the hula juice — no pun intended. I asked Carl why he didn’t have a permanent bar on the marina. He told me that his father had tried years ago but the town wouldn’t let him. This didn’t make sense since most of the marinas I’ve been to around the globe have a restaurant bar as an amenity. Carl agreed to lease me an unused part of the gravel parking lot on the marina if I could get the approvals. Well, it took two and a half arduous years, several different site plans, numerous applications and permits and thousands of dollars to accomplish. ... "
