" ... A brand-owned online community offers marketers the channel to both house their consumer relationships and cultivate data in a mutually beneficial way. Having access to an engaged panel of consumers allows your brand to be agile, but in an intentional way rather than by forced circumstance. And it could ultimately save time and resources. Maybe you discover that consumers favor at-home grainy videos vs. professionally crafted content. ... "
" ... Did Iran conduct the attacks? The evidence so far is suggestive but not conclusive. A grainy video distributed by the United States shows an Iranian boat pulling away from a damaged tanker having removed an undetonated mine. Even if the U.S. accusation were true, removing a mine is not the same as planting a mine. The Iranians could claim that this is part of their maritime rescue mission. ... "
" ... Melting chocolate—When melting chocolate, take care not to let it get too hot, or it may “seize” and turn thick and grainy. Break it into small pieces, place it in a heatproof bowl, and set the bowl over a pan of hot water that is just simmering, not boiling. Make sure the base of the bowl does not touch the water. " ... See, the Blu-ray conversion already clearly had to deal with a mixture of elements: some scenes are super sharp, while others are fuzzy and grainy, and the flight around the Statue of Liberty has major continuity errors in terms of what time of night it's supposed to be. At times, the movie appears to be in technicolor, overdoing the saturation; others, it looks perfect. The 4K seems to have muted the entire thing to make it consistent, turning down the reds but amping up blues and greens. This makes some interiors look more natural, with yellow/beige lighting tones, but it also takes the color out of faces, and makes dead Lois near the end especially corpse-like. The flight with Lois is much more consistent, and the contrasts between some of the lower res and higher res source elements are evened out, but I suspect there's a better, more supervised transfer to be had down the line. Given all the other extra scenes that exist, there's a longer process to be had there, but given the fanbase, I suspect the will is there for multiple dips. If you're happy with your Blu-ray, there is no urgent need to upgrade to this one. Do you prefer a version that looks great in spots and just okay in others, or one that looks really okay throughout? That's sort of your choice right now. ... "
" ... The screen is definitely not “Retina” grade – the Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution stretched across that letterbox-wide display is teetering on grainy, but it’s far from unpleasant. It’s bright, evenly lit and colors aren’t over-saturated, as they often are on low-cost laptops. And look at those slim bezels; Apple take note. It’s just a shame there’s no touchscreen option on a Windows device. ... "
