Update 2: Alright, now Niantic is confirming that Pokemon GO Plus actually can find/catch Pokemon not previously in your Pokedex, which is a direct contradiction to the official product description that was live before release, but I can't say I'm terribly surprised. The Plus will flash green as it buzzes for something you've already caught, yellow for something you haven't, presumably to give you a chance to open your phone and give it the old college try, rather than lob one coinflip Pokeball at it. I have not yet experienced this myself, considering I've caught everything in my area at least once at this point, so unless any Porygons or Omanytes randomly feel like popping up, I expect this won't come into play often. But it's good that it does this all the same, and I can't understand why Nintendo didn't properly communicate all this stuff ahead of launch, and was in fact saying the exact opposite. ... "
